Former Indian player Akash Chopra is baffled by the way the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is handling superstar Marcus Stoines’ batting situation. The 44-year-old believes LSG is not able to anchor its entry points well and if they find a solution, they could be more dangerous to their opponent.

Aakash Chopra also feels West Indies founder Jason Holder is running too low on promotion with the likes of Kronal Pandya and Ayosh Badoni in front of him. Holder is capable of playing the big shots and Chopra believes LSG should look into the matter and find a solution.

Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, here’s what Aakash Chopra had to say during a preview of the showdown between the LSG and the Gujarat Titans (GT):

“The big question that we all fail to answer is what is the correct position of Marcus Stoines in the batting order. With batting being so deep, sometimes Holder can’t hit as much and that’s something they need to think about.”

Aakash Chopra also feels Krunal Pandya won’t be competing much against GT due to the left hand in the lineup. he added:

“With three left-handers in Miller, Tewatia and Sai Sudharsan, Krunal may not get much exaggeration and you may see [Ravi] Bowling Bishnoi in that period.”

“He leads KL because he’s a really calm guy. He’s a player captain. He motivates the boys, he drives from the front.” – Marcus Stoines (post-match) @klrahul11 • #LSG https://t.co/v4qPWPoS6J

Deepak Hooda will be screened against the speed bowlers: Akash Chopra

Manish Pandey couldn’t do justice to his No. 3 role in the LSG squad and was left out of the team. But Chopra was impressed by the way Deepak Hooda performed the role for his team.

Although LSG’s new No. 3 is adept at countering a spin, the 44-year-old could pose some tough questions to both Hooda and Krunal Pandya. He said:

“Lucknow looks really good and wins even without Rahul facing the ball. De Kook is the hitter of the line and he will continue to do well. But the real good work was done by Deepak Hooda in third place. He plays really well, but will be checked against the faster bowlers. He will endure Kronal Pandya also has some responsibility as he has done well so far.”

With two good attacks at speed, the chances of a high-goal match seem slim.
