Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has once again won the Player of the Month award at Old Trafford.
The legendary 37-year-old striker was named United’s Player of the Month for April after what was another great goal-scoring outing.
Ronaldo has so far won four awards in United’s current campaign and commented on the achievement on Instagram:
“Thank you to all the fans who voted for me and all my teammates who helped me achieve this award once again.”
“I am always proud to represent this great club and it is a pleasure to be recognized by the Man United community.”
The Portuguese star had a great month despite his team’s problems.
Against Norwich City on April 16, the striker scored an unforgettable hat-trick that kept Manchester United’s faint hopes of reaching the top four alive.
He then scored a goal in the Red Devils’ defeat against Arsenal on April 23. His amazing goal would be nothing but consolation as his team lost 3-1 that day.
Cristiano Ronaldo also scored a superb equalizer against Chelsea on April 28 after receiving the ball in his step and smashing it past Edward Mendy.
All these remarkable feats were accomplished during a difficult period for the legendary striker off the field with the sad death of his young child.
It’s a testament to the veteran attacker’s personality that he can still make an impact even in such a personal struggle.
The former Real Madrid star is looking to finish his season at the highest level and is currently the third top scorer in the Premier League.
Only Mohamed Salah (22) and Son Heung-min (18) have surpassed his 18 goals in 29 Premier League matches.
Eric Ten Hag builds his Manchester United squad around Cristiano Ronaldo
Erik ten Hag will replace interim manager Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season and will oversee a massive rebuilding of the Old Trafford team.
Much has been said about Ronaldo’s future at United, but his new coach is said to be keen to keep him.
to me telegraphTen Hag wants the 37-year-old to remain a Manchester United player and the remaining year of his contract expires.
The Dutch coach is even considering building his squad around the legendary striker with a massive influx of expected talent.
Whether he stays at the club or not, Ronaldo has certainly added a few feathers to his sparkling hat at United this season.
